On January 1, 2026, Bank First Corporation successfully completed its merger with Centre 1 Bancorp, Inc., the parent company of First National Bank and Trust Company (FNBT). This partnership brings together two strong, community-focused institutions with a shared commitment to relationship banking, personalized service, and community investment.
Why We Merged
The merger allows us to combine complementary strengths and expand our ability to serve customers across Wisconsin and the Stateline area of Illinois. Together, we now operate 38 branch locations and manage approximately $6 billion in assets, creating a stronger foundation for growth and innovation.
What This Means for You
- No Immediate Changes: FNBT will continue operating as a division of Bank First until the planned system conversion in May 2026.
- Expanded Services: Customers will gain access to Trust and Wealth Management, offering personalized wealth planning, trust administration, and investment management.
- Enhanced Digital Banking: Following the conversion in May, all FNBT locations will transition to the Bank First name and digital banking platform, ensuring a seamless experience.
Our Shared Values
Both Bank First and FNBT have deep roots in their communities: Bank First since 1894 and FNBT since 1882. This merger strengthens our ability to:
- Deliver responsive, relationship-based banking
- Support local businesses and families with greater lending capacity
- Continue our tradition of community involvement and philanthropy
Committed to our Communities
As a community bank committed to our local community, First National Bank and Trust proudly partners with educational, civic, and charitable organizations. If your organization would like to request a donation, or if you have a sponsorship opportunity for FNBT to consider, please complete and submit the online Charitable Contribution Request Form.
Looking Ahead
