First National Bank and Trust Announces Promotions

Beloit, WI, June 15, 2018 – First National Bank and Trust (FNBT) is pleased to announce the promotion of five individuals in the Accounting, Credit and Deposit Operations departments as approved at a recent board meeting.
Deb Garde has been promoted to Senior Vice President – Credit Administration. She is responsible for various bank reporting, maintaining the bank’s credit policy, commercial loan audits, and oversight of the commercial credit department. Garde came to FNBT from Chase Bank in 2006 and now has nearly 30 years of banking experience. Garde earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in finance from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance and accounting at Concordia University. She is a member of the Risk Management Association (RMA), and was recently elected vice president of the American Business Women’s Association – Park City Chapter (ABWA) for 2018-2019. Active in the community, Garde volunteers with Beloit Meals on Wheels and participates in the United Way Day of Caring. Previously, she is a former 4-H leader, Girl Scout Leader, and was on the Boy Scout Troop Parent Committee, as well as treasurer of the Parkview Golf Boosters.
Erin Jury joined FNBT in 2009 and has been promoted to Assistant Vice President – Credit Department Manager. In this role, she is responsible for assessing the credit worthiness of commercial banking clients, reviewing commercial loan approval documents completed by credit analysts to ensure credit underwriting consistency, as well as consistent application of the bank’s loan policy. Prior to FNBT, Jury worked as a senior commercial credit analyst at AMCORE Bank in Rockford, Illinois. She holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois, and has attended numerous RMA classes, including Global Cash Flow Analysis, Agricultural Credit Analysis, Asset Based Lending, Advanced UCA Cash Flow Analysis, and Global Cash Flow-Real Estate Portfolio Perspective to name a few. She has also completed Omega Performance Training for Commercial Loans to Business and recently completed the Leadership Learning Series offered by the bank. Jury’s past volunteerism includes participation with Junior League of Rockford and the United Way of the Rock River Valley. She currently volunteers at her daughter’s school and Girl Scout troop. Jury lives in Roscoe, Illinois with her husband, Andrew, and keeps busy with her two children, Claire and Sawyer.
Ryan Renz has been promoted to Assistant Vice President – Controller. Renz came to FNBT in 2017 with more than 15 years of banking experience and one year in public accounting. As controller at FNBT, Renz works closely with the bank’s chief financial officer in preparing month-end financial reports, budget reconciliation and review, as well as regulatory reporting. A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a master’s degree in business administration, Renz sits on the board of directors for the university’s alumni association, and was a past president and member of the Rotary Club of Indiana-Midday. He volunteers with Upward Sports through Spring Creek Church in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, and recently relocated to Burlington, Wisconsin with his wife, Becky.
Sean Gjestson has been promoted to ATM/Card Services Manager and Officer. He leads the team responsible debit card portfolio management and fraud processing as well as management of the bank’s ATMs. Sean started his career at FNBT in 2008 as a Loan Operations Representative. Since then, he has held various positions including Loan Operations Systems Admin, Commercial Sales Admin, Credit Analyst, and Operations Analyst. Sean earned a bachelor's degree in business management and finance from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater in 2007 and went on to earn a Masters of Business Administration in 2014. His volunteer activities include the Rock County Humane Society and has been involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters for seven years. He and his wife, Pam, live in Beloit, Wisconsin and keep busy with their son, Jack and two dogs.
Daeng Jelinek joined FNBT in 2016 and has been promoted to Senior Credit Analyst and Officer. In this role, Jelinek is responsible for assessing credit risk through underwriting, underwriting commercial loans based on the bank’s loan policy, and managing the timeliness of credit underwriting for her clients. With more than 10 years’ experience, she previously worked as a portfolio manager for another local financial institution. Jelinek graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in finance from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. Her past volunteer affiliations include work with Independent Disability Services, Inc., and the Leadership Development Academy of Rock County. A native of Janesville, Wisconsin, Jelinek still resides there with her husband, Chad, and their three children, Abigail, Noah, and William.
Garde, Jury, Renz, Gjestson, and Jelinek are all based out of FNBT’s Grand Avenue office in Beloit, Wisconsin.
