Since the start of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic this past spring, the health and safety of our employee, customer & community families have remained our top priority. As the virus continues to evolve and disrupt life throughout the entire country, we’d like to offer our support to all our families. Our focus is everyone’s safety and well-being and our thoughts are with those who have been impacted. To that end, we are taking steps to help prevent the spread of the virus, avoid potential disruptions of service to our customers, and stand prepared to offer assistance, as needed, to affected customers.

Health and Safety
We have made the decision to once again temporarily suspend our branch lobby hours in an effort to minimize the spread of COVID-19 effective Monday, November 30. All branch drive up services will continue to stay open during our normal business hours.  We’ve already begun work to ensure that our employee teams are available to support our customers during this temporary suspension of lobby service. This is just one of many steps we are taking to minimize health risks to everyone.

Uninterrupted Service
Our drive up services will remain uninterrupted. During this time, we strongly encourage you to leverage FNBT self-service tools for 24/7 account access through mobile and online banking.  Through these channels, you can check balances, transfer funds, deposit checks or find the nearest ATM. If you are not enrolled in online or mobile banking start the process here.   If you need assistance with the process call 800-667-4401.

Be Vigilant
This is also a time to be vigilant. Cybersecurity experts across the globe are on high alert tracking coronavirus-related phishing attempts and warning everyone to be wary of unsolicited messages. Banks play an important role in supporting our customer and community families during times of crisis. The evolving situation with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is no different.

Rest assured that First National Bank and Trust (FNBT) remains committed to all of our families during this trying time. As an essential business, our drive-up services continue to be available during normal business hours, and customers have access to online and mobile banking as well as surcharge-free ATMs through the AllPoint and MoneyPass networks.

We are paying close attention to the recommendations made by the Centers for Disease Control, national, state, and local officials. As events unfold, we will take necessary steps to protect the health of our customer and employee families. 

Our branch lobbies have reopened for limited access. 

  • Branch Lobby Hours â€‹All FNBT branch lobbies are currently open for limited hours:
    • Monday - Friday -- 10 am to 2 pm
    • Saturday -- all lobbies open from 10 am to Noon except Beloit-Grand Ave & Monroe
  • Branch Drive-Up Hours - All FNBT Drive-up Services continue to be open for normal business hours
    • Check here for the drive-up hours of your local FNBT branch

To help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, many of our FNBT employee family members will be working remotely but all critical banking services will be available.

Protecting Yourself from Identity Theft is Important

Your identity is one of the most valuable things you own. It’s important to keep your identity from being stolen by someone who can potentially harm your good name and financial well-being. Identity theft occurs when someone uses your name, address, Social Security Number, credit card or financial account numbers, passwords, and other personal information without your knowledge to commit fraud or other crimes. While the words may sound like a foreign language -- Phishing, Pharming, Vishing, Spyware, Dumpster Diving — they are actually techniques used by thieves to put your identity and finances at risk. And their attacks grow more frequent and sophisticated every year. Identity theft is the fastest growing crime in the United States. According to US Department of Justice statistics, it’s now passing drug trafficking as the number one crime in America.

How to protect your identity

The simple fact is you can protect yourself against most forms of identity theft. The first step is education. To make it easier to understand, we’ve divided identity theft into the five “Danger Zones.” Take a few moments to learn about each of the Danger Zones and the steps you can take to avoid being a victim.

10/19/2018 - Fraud Alert: Computer Phishing Scams

We have recently become aware of a Computer Phishing scheme where fraudulent ads are presented as pop-ups on personal computers inviting the recipient to receive a free credit report by entering their credit card information. Please note, that you should always be suspicious of any advertisements in a pop-up, and First National Bank and Trust (FNBT) will never sell a service, or ask for personal information in this manner.

To protect yourself from this type of scam:   
  • Make sure you have anti-virus and anti-spyware software installed on your computer, keep them updated, and run a full system scan at least weekly.
  • Keep your computer operating system up to date, and your firewall turned on. 
  • Use strong passwords for secure sites. These should include eight or more characters with random numbers, and change your passwords at least every six months.
  • If you download anything from the Internet such as music, movies, or pictures, make sure you do so only from trusted websites. Downloads can be infected with spyware attached to the file. 
  • Watch for signs of spyware - frequent pop-up ads, unexpected icons on your desktop, random error messages or sluggish computer performance are all signs of infection. Run a full system anti-virus and anti-spyware scan to safely remove. 
  • Be careful when using public computers to perform any type of personal transactions. Just logging into a website may give away passwords and other private information if spyware has been installed on the computer. 
If you receive this type of pop-up, please verify first that no personal information was given. If any information was compromised, immediately contact us so we can take steps to help protect your accounts.
