Release date: 7/18/2024

Beloit, WI, July 18, 2024– In 2023, Americans reported losing over $10 billion dollars to fraud and scams, according to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). To address this critical issue, First National Bank and Trust (FNBT) is taking proactive steps to educate the public on how to spot scams and steps individuals can take to protect themselves.

FNBT has partnered with various assisted living centers and community organizations to provide the public with easy access to fraud education. In partnership with the Williams Bay Police Department, FNBT will be at Barrett Memorial Library, 65 W Geneva St, Williams Bay, WI, at 10:00am on Thursday, July 25, 2024, to host a Fraud Prevention Seminar. The seminar is free and open to the public, no registration is required.

In these seminars, FNBT's Vice President, Fraud Prevention Manager, Wanda Moucha, and Senior Vice President, Director of Retail Banking, Deb Griffith, will discuss fraud prevention and educate the public on emerging threats and strategies to combat fraud. With extensive experience in fraud prevention and a track record of defending against fraudulent schemes, their insights offer guidance for navigating the complexities of modern-day fraud and safeguarding personal information.
