First National Bank Participates in 2009 Business/Education Connections Initiative

On Thursday, May 7th, a class of freshmen students from Beloit Memorial High School visited First National Bank and Trust Company as part of a 2009 Business/Education Connections Initiative.  As a proud partner of the initiative, some First National Bank employees dressed in purple to show their support of Beloit Memorial High School. 

The Human Resources Department of First National Bank coordinated a tour of the Grand Avenue Corporate Office.  Anna Toye, Human Resource Generalist, reviewed the job application process with the students and made them aware of the employment opportunities at First National Bank to help them explore banking as a career goal.  Vice President and Marketing Director, Laura Pomerene, taught the students about the role and responsibilities of the Marketing function.  Through this process, the students had the opportunity to create the headline for this news release on the bank's website www.bankatfirstnational.com.

Students were impressed with the convenient online channels that First National Bank offers its customers.  These services include: electronic bank statements, online banking, electronic bill payment, and mobile banking (ability to bank from your web-enabled cell phone).

The tour concluded with a visit from President and CEO, Steve Eldred.  Steve explained the general operation of a bank - the deposits a bank takes in are used to make loans to residents and businesses in the community.  He also passed out "samples from the vault - crisp $10 bills" to each student in attendance and $50 towards a classroom pizza party!
